We have always wanted to take surprise proposal pictures and we finally got the opportunity with our own daughter. How cool is that? Russell lives in California and flew in today to surprise Lauren. We told a pack of lies over the past couple of weeks setting up the plot, ploy and plan! But it worked... she was blown away. The rotunda of the Texas Capitol was the location. DPS troopers were notified before we arrived and cleared the floor. A group of school kids had come in for a tour, but instead went up stairs and waited to watch the moment. At first Russell was speechless, but the words came to him. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said she wanted to scream and jump up and down, but she calmly said "yes"... well, actually she said "yes" two times and then everyone started cheering, including the DPS officers. It was a blast!
