The second blog in our series of tips for your wedding from a photographers point of view!

How to hold your flowers:

This is probably the last thing on your list of things to think about, but here it is....a simple tip to keep in mind. Hold your bouquet the right way and you’ll not only look smooth, serene and polished walking down the aisle, but both your bouquet and dress will shine in your wedding photos. Relax your arms! Let the weight of the bouquet bring your arms down so that the bouquet is at your bellybutton and your arms are resting on your hip bones. This will make you look longer and more relaxed. Don’t strangle your flowers. You don't want the flowers to hide the detail of your beautiful dress!

Here are some examples of nice placement of bouquet to showcase the dress and the bride!

Show your waist!

This tip works for bridesmaids also!

If your bouquet is really large, rest it on your hip but move it to the side a little to show the detail of your dress!

Here are some examples where flower placement hides the dress! The brides are still beautiful but not showing off their dress as well as they could. You decide.

Good luck with your big day. Check back from time to time for more tips.

Butterfly Kisses - Kelsey and Alan

Angel Springs in Georgetown http://www.angelspringsevents.com/ was the venue for this super sweet couple. Butterflies with damask and hot pink linens decorated the room for this Valentines Day wedding. Kelsey's mom, Kim Kindig, is a wedding and event planner so there was no doubt the day was going to be well coordinated. Kim is really good at what she does - here is a link to her website: http://www.austinsocialbutterfly.com/ The wedding had so many nice touches - the pink and white candy station was perfect for Valentines Day, butterflies on the cake and in the center peices along pink champagne! A touching moment when the groom took the microphone to thank his guests and said this day and his marriage was his greatest life experience. You could feel the love and tenderness between this couple.

Kelsey

Dunvegan's Keep was the perfect setting for Kelsey's bridal portraits. Her cinderella princess wedding dress and pink shoes fit perfectly with this fairytale location. http://www.dunvegankeep.com/. Rain threatened all day however, in the end, the weather cooperated with us and we were able to capture some simply gorgeous portraits using the pool, gazebo, grass and antique furniture. Kelsey is such a sweet girl and it shows in her photographs.

William at 3 months

The McCarty family contracted with us to take a portrait series of William at newborn, 3 mo, 6 mo, 9 mo and 1 year. It will sure be fun seeing him at each milestone and "boy, oh boy" has he sure has grown and changed! From serious to laughing we captured it all. Check out those eyes! William's big bother even joined mom, dad and for a couple of pictures. Great family and fun session!
