Owen @1 year... Mr. Independent!

Snips, snails and puppy dog tails - that what boys are made of... and Owen is all boy! We had a great time photographing Owen for his one year session. He recently started walking and the world is his playground. We went to our favorite Round Rock park which is really hurting from the recent torrential rain and flooding that central Texas experienced earlier this month. Still pretty green grass and beautiful flowing water but mud, dirt, rocks everywhere and he wanted to explore play with it all. I was thinking at the end, we should have stripped him down and let him go in big mud puddle! It would have been so cute, but I think Mom, Nicole would have needed prepare for that in advance!

Sonni and Kyle - Boot Scootin' at Texas Old Town

The skies open up and poured rain about two hours before Sonni and Kyle's wedding. J. Mark Photography has never had a rain out, but we were sweating this one! The radar looked ominous. I am sure some prayers were answered when the rain broke and stayed away the rest of the night! It was a beautiful ceremony and "cool". Sonni's father was thrown from a horse and broke his foot and I think this is the first father of the bride that we have had on crutches, but he did a great job escorting Sonni down the aisle. Texas Old Town is simply a great venue with water, bridges, well manicured landscaping, multiple reception buildings, and wonderful staff. We are fan's! The reception had a totally "down home" feel. Mason jars and candles decorated the tables with very yummy chicken fried steak with gravy for dinner. Guests enjoyed a grand march, lots of boot scootin', fun toasts, and cowboy boot shaped bubble containers for the exit. We love weddings where the guests have just as much fun as the bride and groom. Sonni and Kyle were so easy to work with. The couple left for Fort Worth before heading to Las Vegas for the PRC rodeo. Sounds like a great honeymoon! PS. Mandee Freitag with Mandee Freitag Events did an awesome job coordinating this wedding. She was a pro!

Sonni's Bridal Portrait Session - Dunvegan's Keep

Finally! We have been waiting to post pictures from this beautiful bridal session! We met Sonni with both her mom and future mother-in-law at Dunvegan's Keep for her bridal portrait session. The best part of a bridal portrait session is that you get to do a trail run. Sonni was sure that she disliked wearing her veil and asked for pictures with and without it on.... and after seeing her portraits, she loved the pictures with her veil! She just decided to move it a bit lower on her head for wedding day. Brides - DO bridal portraits - you will never be sorry! Dunvegan's Keep provides such a beautiful setting. Lush and green with lovely architecture to use for backgrounds. It was a fun session. Enjoy the samples.

Isabella at 10 days

I flew solo my first baby session with 10 day old Isabella! We have been so busy at J. Mark Photography and Mark had other commitments - so I decided to try taking a baby session by myself. I must admit I was a bit nervous and it was all for nothing because I got some really sweet images of Isabella. She was a good baby! I must give Mark props for the spectacular post processing work he did to make my good pictures... great. Here are a few samples of this new little one - Vicki

Kymberly

Baby Bellies are the cutest things ever! We photographed Charles and Kymberly's wedding a few years ago, so this was a true joy for us. Charles is in the Army and currently deployed to Iraq. He should be home for Miss Leighton's arrival in this wonderful world and then will need to return for another 5 months. If all works out, Vicki hopes to be in the delivery room for the very first pictures and then Mark is going to take "itty bitty baby" pictures in the first 10 days, so you will get to see lots of Leighton in the next month or so. Pregnancy agrees with Kymberly and we were honored to capture this special time in her life.
