Karly and Matt - Elegance at Vista at Sewards Hill

This was our first visit to this venue and hope it won't be our last! Beautiful setting plus great staff. There is so much to say about this wedding, that I hardly know where to start. First has to be that Karly was one of the happiest brides that we have ever worked with. Next, Karly fell in love with her dress and wore some super cute shoes. She said "Every time I put this dress on, I never want to take it off!". Karly celebrated her Scottish heritage with tartan sashes and bagpipes during the ceremony. Dinner was prime rib and sides included new potatoes topped with caviar, veggies and bacon wrapped shrimp. But it didn't stop there... signature cosmopolitans in a monogrammed ice shoot and designer cup cakes (we tried the tiramisu - yum). Beautiful flowers, a sweet slide show and lots of dancing. There was an exit with sparklers and a vintage Rolls.  Oh, and by the way... Matt was there, also - just smiling along with Karly. Great night! I hear honeymoon was in Belize.

Meet the Little Man, Eli

10 week old Eli, brought his parents Liz and James with him to our home studio. Liz is a talented graphic designer, who by the way, designed our J. Mark Photography logo! Liz told us that it has been 9 years since she took a professional portrait with her husband. I think the last time was on their wedding day, so we were pleased that we could do their first "family" photo with their new little guy. At 10 weeks, you can only hope you can get the baby to turn towards the camera. But, because Mr. Eli a strong strappin' boy that loves to push up, we were able to get some great shots!

Leanne's Bridal Portrait Session

The wedding finally came...so we can post pictures from Leanne's bridal session. We traveled down to Texas Old Town to use the grounds for her portraits. This was our first bridal session at this venue and they have some really great places to use for pictures. We were able to get a really nice mix of traditional and rustic Texas feel. Then at the end of the session we drove to the San Marcos airport to the Texas State hangar and took pictures in front of one of the teaching planes. Cody surprised Leanne with a private plane ride to Fredericksburg, were he proposed... with a spectacular ring - I might add!

Leanne and Cody Get Hitched at Texas Old Town

Texas Old Town was perfect venue for this couple. You can't tell but under that beautiful dress was a pair of cowboy boots! Cody and Leanne decided to see each other and took most of the formal and family pictures before the before the ceremony. They had a really special moment. Cody said "Wow, you look great!" and I started thinking how awesome it is to be able to say and hear those words instead of having to hold them in until after the ceremony. The colors Leanne selected were so vibrant. Leanne and her bridesmaids made the chunky necklaces to match....too cute. Pies instead of a grooms cake, lots of dancing and ATX/Greenbelt DJ did a great job, by the way! My cheeks were tired of smiling from watching the guest put on all sorts of prop at the live photobooth.. The exit was to bubbles and I hear there was a great after party!
