Flowers

I was just messing around today with some shots of some flowers. Some are from the front yard and some not. Some are "worked" with photoshop, some not so much. Here are a few that I thought came out nice. What do you think?

Brittany and Anthony

Brittany and Anthony could not have asked for a more perfect day. The weather was awesome for this intimate wedding. The ceremony took place in the historic Grace Heritage Church in Georgetown. Brittany's father served double duty walking her down the aisle and then performing the marriage ceremony. How cool is that? The message was tender and came from her Dad's heart. The reception followed at the San Gabriel Bed and Breakfast. The backyard was beautifully decorated in dark purple and lime green. San Gabriel staff did a great job with the food and service. Guests enjoyed fajitas with all the trimmings. Paige's Bakehouse designed two lovely cakes. Anthony's sister just delivered twins and her toast had to be read to Anthony. Two thing were very clear - their love for each other and her dismay that she missed her brother dressed in a tux! Brittany and her mother created a lovely event, but not near as lovely as the beautiful bride. The couple didn't think anyone would dance, however we have proof that Mike Michaels kept the dance floor hopping. The couple is honeymooning at Disney World.

Images now provided on Flash Drives!

J. Mark Photography is excited to announce that wedding images will now be provided to you on a flash drive. Standard DVD's have a shelf life mainly determined by the coating applied to the disc and how they are handled. The materials used in them can decay over time and render them unreadable, as can minor scratches. Flash drives transfer files quickly and will provide you with easy downloads. The flash drive will come with instructions. After download, you can put your flash drive on your key ring and always have your wedding images to show family and friends in minutes.

That is the good news, now here is the bad. We just read a shocking article that 75% of all brides don't print pictures or make an album. Almost all brides said they loaded the images on to facebook, digital frames and loaded on to their computers. Lets back up... 75% said they don't make prints. Well, that is scary. The article said they surveyed brides and to asked them why. Responses ranged from brides intended to make their own albums but never get around to it, that every waking minute was no longer focused on wedding planning and life goes back to the busy...work, home, friends, and often new little ones.

About 40% of our brides select a package with an album. These are modern yet classic keepsakes that will last a lifetime. Take our advice. Don't let your digital media sit idle. Make prints, make a scrapbook, or DIY album, format a book using one of the numerous online services. Then, safely store your digital media. Give copies to your mother, brother, best friend, and one for your safety deposit box. We are delivering memories on a thumb drive. Turn them into something you can admire on your walls and on your coffee table.

What is our "Photo Booth"?

The photo booth is not a “booth” at all! It’s a Photographer staffed mini-studio with a backdrop and professional lighting. We provide props to encourage silliness! It is great entertainment and add's free fun. Yep, we said free. No charge for this service. It is provided complimentary for each wedding we photograph. The advantages over an instant-style traditional photo booth are the amazing quality of the photographs and the ability to photograph larger groups of people at one time. All the photo booth images are also included on the wedding flash drive and are available for your guests to view online. Don't want the crazy props, but want a portrait station? No problem, we leave the props at home and your guests can stop and take a portrait. Think about the great "thank you" gift you can provide. Send them the file and let them print the family portrait taken at your wedding.

Vanessa and Tony at Villa Antonia

As Winnie the Pooh would say "It was a very blustery day". But the wind and potential rain did not stop this couple and their guests from having a terrific day. Plans just had to change. Thank goodness Villa Antonia has a great rain plan so the ceremony took place in the chapel, not overlooking the hill country. A touching ceremony with a few tears of joy started the event. Vanessa looked radiant and check out her dad was looking at her. You could tell that Tony and Vanessa have been waiting all their lives to find each other. The reception tables were beautifully decorated and lit in purple with bling accents. Dinner and lots of dancing followed with a large candy and dessert bar. We love hearing the toasts, the groomsmen each choosing a word to describe Tony. We heard strength, faith, committed. What a tremendous compliment. Shelly did a wonderful job as the Villa Antonia coordinator she had her hands full with plan B. The couple is enjoying a lovely honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
