Malari and Trevor, a perfect match!

Malari is a veterinarian and Trevor is a manager for Tomlinson Pet Supplies and also a dog trainer. Could there be a better fit for each other? I asked Malari how they met and she told me “at dog agility training”. So what could be more fitting than adding in their pups to their super fun engagement session? We couldn’t have asked for better save the date models. We had such a fun time and we were happy to be able to squeeze this session in between bouts of bad weather. This late afternoon worked out absolutely perfect. They are so “doggone” cute.

Monica and Steven – Engagement Session, Round Rock

This couple waited until just 3 weeks before their wedding to take their engagement portraits. We think they have been a bit busy planning a wedding and a fairly large one at that! This sweet couple lives in Killeen. Steven works in IT support and Monica is an x-ray technician. The wedding will be held at the Double Tree which is just steps from the state capitol building. Honeymoon will be a trip to California with a drive up Hwy 1.

FREE ENGAGEMENT SESSION

J. Mark Photography offers a complimentary engagement session in Round Rock to every couple that books us for their wedding. See the details, tips and a few samples from this wonderful location.

Location!
Our favorite park - Round Rock Memorial Park has a creek, waterfall, trees, grass, rocks, funky walls, picnic tables, railroad tracks, softball field, ducks and walking trails. The light is terrific and the possibilities are endless.

Comfort counts
We believe that you should be comfortable!  You should be able to “play” in your clothes meaning able to sit on grass, rocks, railroad tracks, dip and kiss and even ride piggy back.  If you want to wear high heels…great, but bring flip flops or other flat shoe for walking to the various locations.

Clothes
Your engagement session should “feel” like you!  Do you usually wear boots and jeans?  Do you live in a sundress and sandals? Do you always wear a bow tie? Go with what is natural to you.

Makeup and nails
The bling is the thing…. And we will photograph your hands. You don’t have to get your nails professionally done, but we don’t want to capture chippie nail polish. Take a few minutes to care for your hands.  If you are doing your own makeup, wear a matte foundation since it photographs best and avoid glitter in powder and eye shadows.

Watch the weather—and the clock
Our favorite time to photograph is right before sunset. Sunlight is best during sunset and  we refer to it as "photographer's golden happy hour.” Shooting midday is fine if there is not much sunlight. A lot of clients mistakenly assume that lots of sun is good, but in fact it's not. Often the light is too harsh during sunny afternoons and can cast unflattering shadows on your face. Clouds and an overcast day often provide the most vibrate colors.

Show your love for each other
Have fun with each other. Engagement sessions should really be seen as a fun day out with your fiancĂ©, except with us there to capture the moment. Of course we will pose you, but be natural and don’t be afraid to show affection and laugh. Don’t stress about this session!

Pets, props and hobbies
Play softball together, love to read, bike, hike or play chess? You name it… we can incorporate your hobby. Make your shoot personal to you as a couple. Is your pup important to you? We are dog friendly and love to add in your furry family member. Have a sign or prop to use? Bring it!

Allison and Ross @ The Plantation House

We met with Allison and Ross before they had actually selected their venue. Allison told use her visual dream and we suggested they check out the Plantation House. We knew they would love the venue. Allison and Ross could not have asked for a more beautiful day. Family traveled from the east coast and areas near and far in Texas to celebrate. The ceremony was conducted by a family member. That is always a gift because the messages come from a true love of the couple.  Allison selected purple for her signature color and her flowers were simply stunning. The colors just popped for the camera! Add in a gorgeous bride and wow... we were speechless. We loved their very unique combined bride and grooms cake! Add all the details together with a lovely meal, toasts, plenty of dancing, an exit to sparklers and the sum was a totally incredible evening. Congrats Allison and Ross!
